Senior Business Analyst / Business Analyst

Senior Business Analyst – Investment Banking | SQL | Big Data | Agile | Regulatory Reporting
We are hiring an experienced Senior Business Analyst / Business Analyst to join our Investment Banking Technology team. This role focuses on regulatory reporting, Big Data platforms, wholesale banking products, and digital transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will have strong SQL, Agile (Scrum), JIRA, stakeholder management, and financial services experience, with the ability to bridge Business, IT, and Data Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities – Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst
- Gather and document business requirements (BRD, FSD, Functional Specifications)
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and user stories
- Define business logic for Big Data and regulatory reporting systems
- Perform SQL data analysis, data validation, and data quality checks
- Work closely with software development teams in Agile/Scrum environments
- Manage stakeholders across Business, IT, Product, and Data teams
- Support regulatory compliance and financial reporting initiatives
- Conduct impact analysis, gap analysis, and process improvement
- Use tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ALM
- Participate in UAT, testing, validation and release cycles
Additional Responsibilities (Senior Level)
- Lead cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
- Manage risks, dependencies, and delivery governance
- Contribute to technology strategy and cloud transformation
- Oversee financial management and execution reporting within product domains
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst (5–8+ years for Senior Business Analyst)
- Experience in Investment Banking, Wholesale Banking, or Financial Services
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum methodology
- Hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Experience working on regulatory applications or financial systems
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working with software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Knowledge of FX, Bonds, Equities, Fixed Income products
- Experience with Big Data, Spark, Cloud, Microservices architecture
- Knowledge of Java, MongoDB, Kibana, JSON
- Experience with Data Governance and Data Engineering teams
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with platforms such as Calypso or Loan IQ
- Business Analysis certification (IIBA or similar)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics or related field
- Master’s degree is advantageous
