As part of the embedded software team, the Software Component Designer is responsible for designing, specifying, and validating AUTOSAR Software Components (SWCs) used in vehicle functions such as lighting, start-up, access systems, energy management, and driver alerts.

This senior role implies technical leadership, autonomy, and the ability to guide design choices and support cross-team collaboration.

Missions:

Technical Responsibilities

• Design and own the architecture of AUTOSAR SWCs in alignment with system requirements and platform constraints
• Specify detailed functional and non-functional requirements for SWC implementation and integration.
• Define SWC architecture elements (interfaces, ports, runnables, events, timing, data flows).
• Perform and lead MIL/SIL validation activities using Matlab/Simulink, Embedded Coder, TargetLink, or equivalent.
• Produce and review AUTOSAR artifacts (ARXML, behavioral models).
• Collaborate with BSW/Platform teams to ensure interface coherence (RTE, COM, OS, memory, diagnostics…).
• Support implementation phases, contributing to debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance improvements.
• Contribute to design guidelines, modeling standards, and reusable assets, acting as a reference for SWC design best practices.

• Drive design decisions, challenge requirements, and propose architectural improvements.
• Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on modeling, AUTOSAR compliance, and validation.
• Contribute to make/buy recommendations for component-level solutions and reusable patterns.
• Take ownership of complex components or cross-domain interactions requiring high-level expertise.

Continuous Improvement

• Support the evolution and maintenance of SWC architecture.
• Contribute to engineering process optimization and model-based design methodologies.
• Ensure consistency, traceability, and compliance with internal quality standards and ASPICE requirements.

Skills:

Must‑Have Qualifications

• Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in automotive embedded software development.
• Solid command of AUTOSAR Classic: SWC design, RTE behavior, ARXML structure, timing & events.
• Proficiency in C language and embedded software fundamentals.
• Strong experience in model-based design (Matlab/Simulink, Embedded Coder, TargetLink).
• Very good understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SOME/IP).
• Strong skills in debugging, defect analysis, and requirement traceability.
• Proficiency in Python or Perl scripting for automation.

Nice‑to‑Have:

• Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety principles.
• Experience with AUTOSAR configuration tools.
• Understanding of power management, diagnostics, and automotive electrical architecture.
