Commerzbank is one of the Leading Transaction Banking Banks in Europe processing more than 4 bn payment transactions every year. The Cluster Payment Transactions delivers fast, client focused payment products and services for all clients globally - electronically and traditionally. We combine all services regarding payments products from product management, product specific / technical sales support up to run and change all IT-systems. To support the business processes, we develop own, integrate 3rd party software applications and operate them on different IT-platforms. Operational stability is core and center for our provided services.

In your role as Business Analyst/Business Expert you will be part of our vision to digitalize and automate the payment process and improve the current workflow for our internal customers with innovative technologies. As BA responsible in this business area you will be able to drive this change and define adequate solutions. For this you will analyze business requirements and be able to configure the system and translate the requirements to the test scope and provide this to development team or external vendor. You will use modern IT infrastructure and tools and work in an environment of Agile product development.

What you will be doing?

• Translating business requirements into IT solutions and associated applications.
• Understanding and analyzing business needs (actual vs. target) and defining appropriate functional solutions, which may involve parametrization within the application or creating a functional IT concept for the development team to implement.
• Advising and consulting with both business and IT experts on functional application concepts and optimizing business processes and workflows.
• Creating business process models, business data/object models, and specifications for functional solutions.
• Defining functional test scenarios and establishing quality assurance measures, as well as providing support for test activities in test environments.
• Analyzing and designing solutions for incidents or issues in close collaboration with other involved teams.

What Skills & Technology Are Important for Us?

• Business Requirements Analysis & Translation: The ability to understand, document, and define business requirements (actual vs. target) and design functional IT solutions. You will also translate business needs into test data requirements.
• Business Workflow and Data Modeling: Proficiency in documenting and designing processes, analyzing data workflows, and optimizing business processes.
• Combination of IT Affinity and Business Analytics Skills: As a liaison between business experts and IT development teams, you must bridge the gap by understanding and advising both sides on the best functional and technical solutions for the application. Training on specific IT solutions will be provided.

Additional Skills:

• Banking Knowledge - Especially Payments Transaction Expertise: While not mandatory, knowledge in banking and payments transactions is highly valued, especially regarding the products associated with this domain. A willingness to enhance your business analysis skills and develop product expertise will be strongly appreciated.
• Agile Software Development Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban will help you navigate our fast-paced product development environment.
• Jira and Confluence Tools: Experience using Jira and Confluence for project management, organizing workflows, documentation creation, and maintaining a knowledge base is highly advantageous.
