Responsibilities
  • Recruit staff, retain and exit staff according to business needs complying with legal and ethical company standards at all times
  • Establish a performance management culture, develop, implement and monitor key metrics
  • Ensure all HR requirements relevant to the employee life-cycle are met at all times
  • Ensure close relationship to counterpart sites
  • Promote visibily of HR matters relevant to site in local and wider company activities
  • Support change on site and continuous improvement on site
  • Interpret and advise on employment law
  • Deal with grievances and implement disciplinary procedures

Purpose of the Position

As HF group we provide fulfilment solutions (Returns management, Picking, Packing, Shipping, Fulfilment Value Added Services) for the ottogroup. Hermes Fulfilment is going to establish a new site in Iłowa in Western Poland near the border to Germany which will work in synchronization with its german counterpart located in Gernsheim. The Iłowa site will embrace about 2,000 employees.

As Managing Director Human Resources of an e-commerce fulfilment site in Western Poland near the Germany border, you lead the local team of HR experts and ensure that the local organization complies with all national laws and company policies in the field of human resources. In your role as Managing Director Human Resources you legally represent the site together with your counterpart Managing Director Operations. Working closely with the local management team and with company colleagues you ensure the continuous adherence of staff levels in line with operational demand. Ensuring that aim you will work closely with third party partners where applicable. With your team you provide training and development opportunities in line with business needs to keep and enhance their performance and achieve the company's business aims. You will represent your site in company projects to ensure your site is a meaningful contributor.

The role covers two important main tasks, which are
(1) playing a key role in the setup & launch of the site. Develop HR strategy and recruiting plans, plus
(2) running all HR processes as described above in continuous mode by working closely with other HF sites and the HF headquarters on HR matters

Requirements
  • It is of paramount importance that the job holder brings experience in setting up a new site, preferably in the e-commerce fulfilment industry
  • Successfully completed degree (university or college) in HR management or similar fields of study
  • More than 10 years of professional leadership experience within HR management, preferably in staff-incentive industry
  • Experience in team management and working with and for local and international management teams
  • Solid knowledge of national labour law
  • Good basic commercial knowledge, negotiation skills and experience in negotiating with local employee representation
  • Confident handling MS-Office and SAP HR
  • Confident appearance, strong communication skills, resilience and perseverance as well as entrepreneurial thinking combined with teamwork and flexibility
  • Structured and networked way of working, high level of commitment and initiative
