Great working environment, stressful at times. Great benefits offered by Tesla. Opportunities endless for advancement. Great management and upper management

Great pay and benefits, no work-life balance

Tesla is a very intense place to work. It is quite dysfunctional but they try to make up for that with good pay and great benefits. This is not a company one will find to want to work at long-term.

Job placement is important!

Depending on the team that you are on will depicted what time of vibe you have at work. Especially determining whether you want to keep showing up for shift. In all honesty upper management is very sketchy and love calling their own shots; good, bad, or horrible. Quite a few of them are racist. The upper department heads should really take a look at what's going on with them and change the culture, someone whom is not already influenced because there are some great opportunities to make a career within the company.

A once standout company that is now fully Corporate like any other.

This company can still offer opportunities for the right positions. However, it's clearly beginning to fall from it's place as a more activist company into a fully corporate company with all the pitfalls that come with that.Chaotic Management that is costing the company millions due to constantly reversed decisions. Buyers allowed to overorder material well in advance of when it is needed for projects that are flooding the warehouses and into rented trailers or left in the shipping containers at a high daily cost. The pay is ok for the area, the benefits are solid, though PTO/Sick time is kind of a joke. And the stock plan doesn't have as much value for newer employees due to how few shares you get.But the worst part is the HR department which has allowed itself to become a weapon to use by some employees against others they wish to harm. Watch yourself very closely when dealing with the HR team. They are not your friends and will screw you in an instant.

No work/life balance

Hard to maintain work and life balance. Great pay but long hours and lots of overtime, depending on which department you are placed at. Some areas are a lot less work than others.

Pay

Minusy

Short breaks

OK for what it was

Job was simple and was decent with what I did. Worked on the 3rd floor of the Gigafactory and had to load up battery cells through a giant tester and palletized them once finished. Pay was good, benefits were good as well but had to leave because I was denied pay raises and advancement opportunities multiple times.

Amazing place to work and being part of a beautiful mission.

Exciting, special, roller coaster experience, empowerment, probably my best workplace ever, cool and exciting teams. Out of box mentality. Just do it. You have to experience it yourselves!

not bad, no life outside of work.

if you think youre gonna have a life outside of working 12 hour shifts, you wont. thats pretty much it. pay is okay, if you live directly in the bay its probably not enough. most people commute.

Not a terribly difficult job

The pay could be better to combat some of the turnover but all in all if you come in and do your work, you'll succeed in the company. I would like to see the company conduct performance reviews more often and offer a more clear pathway for advancement opportunities.

Great atmosphere and management.

They do a good job of focusing on building the team mentality and the management fosters an environment of positive encouragement. They work with you to find your best fit in a multitude of production associate daily tasks.

Dont work there

Paid way too little. You dont get good support and have to deal with the worst customers ever. Promise for growth doesnt happen unless you are part of the clique

A house built on sand.

TLDR; Come for the word 'TESLA' on your resume. Leave for your sanity.Being hired early on in Buffalo to the AP team, I only spent a few months as a Data Annotation Specialist before being promoted (?) to LEAD Data Annotation Specialist. Pros: You meet a lot of cool folks. Vision insurance is top notch.Cons: Basically, everything else. Imagine a company whose mission statement is to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. Now imagine that same company asking 500+ people to travel to a warehouse/factory to sit at a desk for 8 (EXACTLY 8, don't you dare go over or under) hours doing something that can 100% be done at home. Consider the gasoline, time, money, emissions, and traffic build up from 500+ people going to ONE place every day, for no decent reason. Does that seem sustainable to you? You accrue Vacation/Sick time at a snail's pace. If you are out of 'sick' time, but have a plethora of 'vacation' time, and have to go home in the middle of the day, you will be forced to take an attendance occurrence instead of the leadership team compromising and pulling from your vacation bank due to PoLiCy. If you run out of sick time, you are literally SOL, and will NOT be allowed to leave without points against you (that inhibit your ability for any promotions, oops). And you accrue 1.33 hours of sick time a week. To get one full 8 hour sick day, it'll take you over a month. Imagine trying to schedule doctor's appointments, go to your kid's school events, be home for maintenance, whatever, due to not having any sick time. You will be micromanaged up the wazoo. -

Opportunity

Decent place to work, opportunities to grown. Management is probably the downfall of this company in Reno. Good place to make money, benefits are good.

not worth spending your life to be here

This position is the very bottom of the work pyramid and it shows. You are expected to clean and detail ten cars in a shift every day and inspect all new vehicles that arrive among many other duties that the management team decides to add on top of the daily requirements. Your work to life balance will be near zero during busy end of quarter months. There is no room for advancement as the training system doesn't exist for this position and you are treated based on their own value scale and not your abilities or experience. If you ask questions the management team will target you for elimination or put you into a punishment program for a month to three months

Plusy

none

Minusy

pay, high stress, inexperienced and unskilled management

Great Place to work!

Room for advancement. Great place to work. Work/life balance is a must to maintain. Pay and advancements are awesome. Believing in what you do is the drive that I was missing.

Interesting and stressful work environment

It is an exciting experience. However, it is also risky. Workload and work hours are intense. There is no structured work culture. Most people there are in it for the money. If you are looking for a challenging short-term opportunity to make good money, then this place is for you. There is no work-life balance, so make sure you get compensated well before joining.

Not a fun place to work

have worked for Tesla for 2 years now and think the company has great ideas, and the potential to do great things if management can start seeing how important equipment maintenance is. We run to failure instead of addressing issues that could prevent lengthy downtime situations. We allow the equipment to schedule our PM's instead of scheduling PM's for our equipment.

High stress environment with constantly-changing goals/objectives

I worked at the Devon location as a "vehicle readiness specialist" and this location was extremely mismanaged. I worked here for 8 months and during my time here I've witnessed a handful of employees quit and/or get fired and management never bothered to replace any of them. The workload increased each quarter to the point of about 45-50 cars a day, and eventually it was down to me and one other employee to handle the work of 6 people. What started out as a good job ended up devolving into a discombobulated mess. Goals and objectives changed regularly, so you had no idea what to work towards, new car delivery schedules changed constantly which made it nearly impossible to plan for the day, the VRS team was being bombarded with messages from Teams which took away from the task at hand. I was personally denied full time employment when I tried to go from part time to full time (was part time because of school), despite them CRIMINALLY UNDERSTAFFED. No decisions there made any sense; half the time the manager wasn't even in, so there was really nobody to report to. As of right now there are more temp employees than actual full time employees, as they pull employees from other locations (Mechanicsburg which is 2 hours away). I started working here with the intention of staying long-term, but the mismanagement of the Devon location made it impossible for me to stay; it's a shame what this place has come to in the 8 months that I've been here. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place; you will be ran into the ground.

Plusy

Sometimes lunch on Saturdays

Minusy

Abysmal management
