At kfc it is a fun and typically easy place to work but the pay is not so great. If you are under 16 you will be on $10.71 per hour but when you turn 16 the put your pay upto $13.50 per hour and then at 17 it’s $16.70 per hour and at 20 is your last pay rise you get around $18-$19 an hour
for a first job it's not bad but after a year or so it's a great idea to leave because it's not worth being yelled at for not putting extra salt on chips. esp the pay, not worth the hard work you put into the job itself. but on the upside where I work the employees are very fun to work with and have a laugh around with helping make the job doable.
Overall I had a half and half experience here. There is not enough support or hours offered to team members and poor management skills lead to an increased level of staff overturn.
Meeting new people
Since I've been there they have cut staff hours in the hundreds, to the point where working there is completely unbearable, there is little to no staff able to help me out during peak hours. The management are an absolute joke and sit in the office and just complain about low sales, slow speed etc. Unrealistic expectations for service ($300 order and they want it done perfectly, no errors, in 15 seconds). Absolutely hate it
Some of the staff are great people
Criminally understaffed, unrealistic expectations, underpayed, stressful
KFC is a great first job with welcoming arms to get you on your feet. The staff and management are lovely and always there to help out. Managers are relaxed but also get the job done. All-round great workplace
Staff discounts and amazing people
hard to get started
Great Place to work! Many things to learn & good collaborative culture, leading with heartstyles. Got to work on different projects while working across cross-functional teams. They pay well & have good perks like Half Day Fridays, Free Parking & monthly team bonding activities.
It was a great experience, learned so much, made me realised that how much capable i am working in such an environment, loved working in KFC, will definitely work in future,if i will get a chance to do . Thank you KFC
KFC is a great place to work as a starting line. When working at KFC you are learning to communicate with consumers, pack food, make burgers and wraps and also cook chicken which gives you great experience for future employers to look at
KFC was a completely new experience within the industry, as it required individuals who handle stressful situations with a calm and collected rationale and mind. Through this job, I honed my customer service, interpersonal, and adaptability skills in response to the large volumes of customers that I served during my time working there. Although the job entails highly stressful moments, especially when miscommunication and lack of knowledge was prevalent, it served as a catalyst in the development of important general skills within the workforce.
personally, i specialised in the drive thru section of our restaurant. it gets very busy during peak hours, and managers constantly emphasise working efficiently and accurately in order for the customers to receive their service quickly and in a satisfying manner. though it does get very stressful at times, it helps build resilience and provides a foundation for friendships with fellow coworkers. i've made a lot of friends here, and the environment fosters teamwork. the flexible working hours made it so much easier for me to tackle schoolwork while also earning some spending money.
KFC discount for employee too small compare to other and also their schedule not really good. They will make you work one or twice if you are over 18 then suddenly call you to come for work. Atleast friends really nice and help each other.
Can be physically intensive and can be put under alot of pressure in peak hours but the other workers are usually fun to be around and willing to help you learn
It's not a bad place to work at, with the right people its in fact fun and competitive which i enjoy, it's very unfortunate that my managers were extremely toxic and whats even worse is the fact that head quarters didnt do anything about what i explained throughout this review, such a shame.........
A typical day at KFC includes different roles such as packing, cashier, cooking or handing out, which requires a lot of teamwork and communication. I have learned how to effectively work in collaborative environments, building bonds with coworkers and the managers.
If you are under the age of 17 you are likely to be getting 15- 20 hours a week at KFC but if you are over 17, you will be lucky to even get 6 + hours. Very focused on money and how much each team member costs than actual staffing needs. The pay is really good compared to other fast-food restaurants. there is the odd bad manager but generally, every is happy, enthusiastic and just wants to make customers happy.
Staff discount on food.
