Pełny opis stanowiska
This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, where you will join the Application Security & iNet Basement Team.
The Application Security squad is responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of security solutions enabling authentication and authorization across the entire BEC application ecosystem. The I*Net Basement unit provides the foundational application framework and enterprise-grade integration layer supporting approximately 160 systems across BEC.
The Senior Platform/System Engineer role offers a challenging, cross-technology scope within a team that owns mission-critical components of the BEC platform. You will play a Dev-Ops Lead role in the ongoing migration of our solutions toward a modern, containerized architecture, continuously improving service availability, and driving architectural evolution across both application code and infrastructure management layers.
At BEC, we value in-person collaboration and encourage regular office presence, while also offering the flexibility to work remotely for up to 8 days per month. Your direct manager will be Miroslaw Czajka.
Primary tasks and responsibilities include:
- Ownership of the full delivery lifecycle, from solution design and implementation, through CI/CD pipeline engineering, to deployment and operational support on the Red Hat OpenShift platform
- Active contribution to platform modernization initiatives, including architectural redesign, systematic refactoring, and migration to next-generation hosting and orchestration environments
- Engineering, automation, and continuous improvement of development, testing, and deployment environments, leveraging modern DevOps methodologies and automation-first principles
- Participation in maintenance of application security services and core components of the I*Net platform in Java (multiple versions of JDK)
- Production of high-quality technical documentation and close collaboration with internal teams throughout solution design, implementation, and rollout phases
To succeed, you will have:
- Proven, hands-on expertise in DevOps practices and tooling (e.g., Argo CD, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Red Hat OpenShift, Helm, Kubernetes), with demonstrated ability to operate, scale, and evolve production-grade environments
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure automation roles
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including firewall rule definition, routing principles, and load balancer configuration
- Working knowledge of Java-based systems architecture, including JVM, dependency management, packaging, and deployment models, sufficient to analyze runtime behavior, diagnose issues, and support the Team in deployments and handling issues
- Strong engineering mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional, highly technical teams
It’s nice-to-have:
- Experience designing and operating systems in regulated environments, particularly within the financial services sector
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability management and security scanning in production systems, including scanners (e.g. XRay, Nessus), understanding of findings, and risk-based prioritization based on exploitability and business impact
- Security: certificates lifecycle management (e.g. Venafi)
- Practical expertise with heterogeneous system integration across enterprise landscapes
